About our project

ERASMUS + KA 210 WE SAY THAT STOP WASTING – Stop polluting, let’s act!

ABOUT THE PROJECT

From May 1, 2022, Primary School Cankova is included in the Erasmus+ project KA 210 Small Partnerships. In the We say that stop wasting project, the coordinator is our school. We cooperate with partners from Poland and Turkey. Portugal was also included in the initial period, but withdrew from participation. Within the framework of the project, exchanges between students and teachers are planned. The project lasts until 31.7.2023.

Starting point for the development of the project and activities:

– Intentionally or unknowingly, we create huge amounts of waste in various areas, especially in our schools, homes and other activities.

– In our daily life, we encounter waste food, polluted water resources and energy, which greatly endangers the environment.

– There is global warming, which threatens our planet, and by raising awareness, we want to influence the strengthening of this awareness and action.

– We are an Eco school, an environmentally friendly school.

– We live in a rural border area and we want to provide our students with comparable knowledge as their peers in Europe.

Objectives of the project:

– communication and student exchange between partner countries,

– we want to influence individuals and the wider community to start abandoning some bad habits, and to enable our students and employees to develop green skills,

– to strengthen environmental awareness in schools, so that our students and employees will continue to be actively involved in environmentally friendly activities in the future,

– to develop knowledge, skills and attitudes towards climate change and sustainable development, to contribute to solutions to such problems,

– enable schools and participants to practice more “green practices”, encourage efforts to transfer our achievements to our environment and to future generations,

– promote awareness of environmental issues in teaching (waste reduction, sustainable mobility, reduction of carbon footprint),

– develop materials for the exchange of good practices and effective educational forms and policies on the topic of environmental responsibility and sustainability.

Selected project priorities and topics:

– the environment and the fight against climate change (the problem of wasted food, water and energy)

– development of key competencies.

The theme of the project is environmentally based, as it includes our attitude to the environment and climate change and develops “green skills” on the way to sustainable development. With this, we join European green development (“green Erasmus”), which is one of the priorities of the European Union in the development plan. The project focuses on raising awareness at various levels about environmental problems and the necessity of rational use of natural resources and the inclusion of sustainable development to mitigate climate change.

Some of the main guiding questions about mobility will be:

  1. How to make our life sustainable with simple steps?
  2. How can individuals, communities, institutions or the whole society contribute to reducing global warming?
  3. How to become a responsible citizen and create less waste with green measures?

Estimated mobilities:

– the mobility to Poland in the city of Warsaw, from 15.1.-21.1.2023,

– the mobility in Slovenia, 26.3.2023 – 1.4.2023.

– the mobility to Turkey, to the city of Kepsut-Balikesir, from 28.5.2023 – 3.6.2023.

Final results:

– theater activity – theater performance,

– round tables and case studies also involving the local community (interviews),

– creative and innovative workshops (specific awareness products – e-books, carboon footprint cards),

– newsletter or brochures, project website with outreach activities for individuals, community and society,

– a classroom in nature with tours and events that will raise awareness among participants, change their habits and the habits of the community (CŠOD Mission),

– an environmentally friendly, sustainable school.

Who can participate? 7th, 8th and 9th grade students (12-15 years old) who are aware of environmental problems and want to develop their language, intercultural and communication skills.

Teachers who are actively involved in the project: Monika Hajdinjak (coordinator), V. Ismajlovič, Monika P. Zamuda, L. Skrivanek, M. Kociper, N. Lončar, D. Fras and N. Dolgov.
